Food and Drink
Slovak cuisine is very hearty and heavy. Slovak food consists mainly of potatoes, stews and dumplings. Mainly in the south of the country the cuisine is influenced by Hungarain origins, for instance Hungarian Goulas. Most Slovak's generally enjoy a glass of beer, wine or something similiar. However you must be careful of Slovakia's taste for heavy spirits - the most potent spirit is a beverage named "slivovica" and can be up to whopping 65%! There are many more other spirits the most common are Hruskovica and Beckerovka. To learn more of our geography click here.
